i bought this because it was going to take way to long to generate the dof for my clients 15000x 4500 rendered image. unfortuantly i cant seem to load the depth map into dof pro 3.0. it dosnt error out, just nothing happens and it dosnt say anything is loaded. it works fine when i lower the resolution a lot. but this is for a 9 foot poster and i am already boarderline too low. Am i screwed!

Whoa! That's BIG.

We've tested DOF PRO with 4K RGB's using 4K depth maps and it works fine. However, we haven't tested it any higher than that as we haven't received any user requests requiring resolutions that high.

Although I'm guessing at this point, I suppose you could try processing it in segments - ie. 75,000x45,000 left half, and then the same res right half.

I would like to try and test this out as well so please let me know your results.

I did a couple of tests and I was able to load a 15000x4500 depth map to apply to a 15000x4500 RGB image, in both Photoshop 7.0 and Photoshop CS2. However, I ran out of ram when I tried to apply. I was able to load the depth map in both a 1GB ram computer and a 2GB ram computer.

I believe the format of your depth map might have something to do with your error - please try re-saving your depth map as an uncompressed BMP (yes, it will be about 200MB!) and try loading that. I believe now you won't have an error loading it, although you may have an error applying the filter, depending on how much ram your computer has.

Please let me know your results so others can benefit from this.

Thanks,
-Richard
