just tried to use the plugin, but it is so slow it is rediculous. using my pc for rendering complex scenes, animations, analysing and editing huge images and image stacks. DOF PRO is so slow that is hurts compared to any of the other programs I am using. an image a bit over 3000x2000 takes several hours and the funny small preview image is not usable for previewing the results. So using DOF PRO is a pain in the ***. Is there a special trick to it or should I just delete the software from my PC and forget about it?

Hi beru1;

DOF PRO is built to produce quality results at a (potential) speed sacrifice.

There are numerous tips regarding how to improve performance in the documentation it comes with - have you read these?

Working with high resolution files will naturally require more processing time than usual however, we have many clients using DOF PRO for print.

The number one reason for excessively long processing time is due to too much dof. The dof (size) slide will almost exponentially increase your rendertime if you turn it up too high.

If the preview window is too small for your purposes, you can use the "Res" dropdown menu to process much faster but with more pixilated results. This is often the solution for previewing high res images.

Please review the documentation that comes with the product and try the tips suggested.
