 Batch & Depth Map Errors

My first post here, nice to meet you all...

I'm getting the following errors when using Depth Of Field Gen Pro v2.0 in DEMO mode...

1) In Ulead PhotoImpact 8.02, IrfanView ver 3.97 & 3.98, NewTek Aura 2.5b:

- When I press, 'Batch/Configure' button, I get "Memory access violation!".

Afterwards, I get same error no matter what button/option is selected (including 'Cancel' button). Can only exit out by pressing window's "X" button in upper right corner, but then the host program generates errors when closing it.

2) In Ulead PhotoImpact 8.02 (works in IrfanView):

- When I try to load a depth map using 'Depth/Mode: Depth Map', I get "Incorrect size of depth map. Depth map (720x540) and source image (0x0) must be the same size." This happens when using the tutorial's chessRGB.bmp and chessDM.bmp files.

-- Depth Of Field Gen Pro's Display Info shows: Image Resolution: 0 x 0 x 24 bits, (0 pixels); Image Memory Usage: 0 KB, 0.0 MB; Display Settings: 1280x1024x24, 32 bits, 60 Hz

I've tried on two different PCs one with Windows 2000 Pro SP4 and the other with WinXP Pro SP2.

Thanks for anyone's help...Mark

Martin;

Have you tried using any of the programs goodrichm is using with DOF PRO? I haven't as of yet but perhaps you might have some insight...

Otherwise, I can attempt to give it a try this weekend, goodrichm - if I can find some time.

Hi goodrichm;

I've just tried Irfanview with DOF PRO v2.0 and I can confirm that there is indeed a memory access violation when accessing the batch mode. Exclamation

If the batch mode is not used, the filter works fine.

We will have to look into this and thanks for reporting it.

Mark,

I could also reproduce the Memory Access Violation bug in IrfanView. Unfortunately not all host programs support the plugin interface standard in the same way, but we'll try to fix this one in the next release. In the meantime, you should be able to use DOF PRO in the single frame mode. Thanks for reporting the bug!

The second problem you report requires Ulead PhotoImpact which I don't have right now. The problem seems to be with the source image dimensions rather than with the depth map. Do you get the same (0 x 0 etc.) results when you press the Info button before attempting to load the depth map?

Martin

Mark,

I got good news for you: the problem with Ulead PhotoImpact giving zero image size has been fixed. Watch out for the new release!

Thanks again for reporting those issues!

Martin
